interior design

from vision to reality

I am going to give you these pictures in the before to after sequence so we start with the boring, unfinished room and go to the conceptualization via Pinterest to the amazing watercolor rendering AND then to, (drumroll please)...

the BIG REVEAL.

It is always presented this way on those shows on HGTV. But we designers want to show you the big work (because it is always BIG work--don't let those shows fool you) because we are so happy with the fruits of our labor. But I am going to live on the edge a bit. So here goes.

is your guest room ready for the holidaze?

The holidays are a season of entertaining; you'll have to make sure that your guest room is ready for visitors. So, we are serving up some simple tips for making sure you have everything ready for family/friends to come to stay. The perfect guest retreat can be easily set up with these lovely items.

Stylish Curtains: Guests need privacy and an option to sleep in. Curtains offer both.

Fresh flowers, Candles or Scent: Nothing is more welcoming then a delicious smelling room, especially if it is holiday-inspired.

Extra Bedding, Reading Light + Books: It isn't always easy to fall asleep in a new place, so give them extra blankets, the option of books and make sure there's a reading light!

Enjoy the season and the visitors; comfy guests are easy guests. xo

shaken, not stirred

Let's harken back to the days of yore, shall we?  Picture this...  After-dinner drinks in the library followed by a rousing game of backgammon while discussing world affairs. It's like a scene right out of a James Bond movie. The room is filled with curiosities collected over time.  It feels simultaneously vintage and modern, just like the most interesting man in the world.

Except, in these modern times, he wouldn't smoke.  Or carry a gun.  Just sayin'

duuude...

Many teenaged boys don't have reputations for being neatniks.  The trick here is unifying the room with one color-family, tricking the eye into not seeing the mess.  A type of clutter camouflage if you will.

You may even want to keep their door open.  Maybe.
